American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting and Expo
Aug. 15-18, Toronto
This annual event puts convention and visitors bureaus in direct contact with meeting professionals seeking locations for events. Experience Columbus staff met with 30 meeting professionals, resulting in three requests for proposals and 20 additional leads.
American Trucking Association National Truck Driving Championships
and National Step Van Driving Championships
Aug.18-22, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Experience Columbus staff attended the 2009 event to build attendance for the 2010 show in Columbus. Attendance of 1,600 is expected.
Going on Faith
Aug. 20-22, Grapevine, Texas
The Going on Faith Conference attracted 2,500 travel planners serving the religious travel community. Columbus obtained 22 leads for future business.
Connect Marketplace
Aug. 27-30, Las Vegas
This was the first annual convention for meeting professionals for social, military, educational and fraternal meetings, designed to put them in touch with resources and suppliers. Columbus had 32 appointments for potential business, which generated more than 15 leads for future business.
Student Youth Travel Association Conference
Aug. 28-Sept 1, Norfolk, Va.
The annual SYTA Conference is the premier event for the student and youth travel market. The event attracted 100 tour operators and group leaders. Columbus obtained 27 leads for future business.
