Update on Ohio Tourism budget
A total budget allocation for Fiscal Year 2010 of $5.1 million should allow for the Ohio Tourism Division’s core marketing and promotional functions to continue at basic levels as it transitions to a new funding and partnership model to promote Ohio tourism. Click here for complete details.
Breithaupt joins Experience Columbus board
Robert Breithaupt, the executive director of the Jazz Arts Group, recently joined the Experience Columbus board of directors. Breithaupt has served as executive director since 2001 and has been the drummer for the Columbus Jazz Orchestra since 1980.

Market your travel destination in the Ohio Tourism Division’s 2010 Ohio Travel Planner. Submit your free listing by 5 p.m. July 23. Information also will be listed on DiscoverOhio.com.
Submit your destination’s events for the Ohio Tourism Division’s Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events. The deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 4. The publication covers events occurring March 1-Aug. 31, 2010. Event information also will be listed on DiscoverOhio.com and ExperienceColumbus.com.

Bloemendaal leads industry association
Experience Columbus Director of Convention Sales Marco Bloemendaal is serving as the president of the Columbus chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). With chapters world-wide, the HSMAI is comprised of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of the hospitality industry.
Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy accepting applications
Hospitality and tourism professionals from Ohio are invited to apply for the 2009-10 Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy, open to candidates in middle to senior level positions in tourism-related businesses. Applications are due Sept. 18.

Join the Guest Satisfaction Council
Keep your staff in the know about what’s happening around Columbus. Join the Guest Satisfaction Group, comprised of hotel, attraction and restaurant staff. The group meets quarterly to provide the hospitality industry with the tools and information needed to answer questions about where to shop, dine, play or stay in Columbus.
