easyColumbus launched to college students
Experience Columbus joined several other community partners in the launching of easyColumbus this fall.
With more than 110,000 students, Greater Columbus has the nation’s second highest number of college students per capita. The goal of easyColumbus is to engage and ultimately retain college students from the 11 college campuses in the Central Ohio region.
As part of the program, www.easyColumbus.com was launched as an online portal providing discounts on area events, sports, attractions, dining and shopping, as well as internship and community service opportunities and job postings. A printed “Everything Off-Campus Guide” offering the same information and resources as the Web site was distributed at 11 area college campuses.
“We have come to regard our region’s college students as ‘four-year visitors,’” said Paul Astleford, Experience Columbus president and CEO. “As a result, we have been working with easyColumbus and its partners to welcome students to Greater Columbus and engage them in ways that we hope will connect them long-term to our community. We also want them to become enthusiastic ambassadors for Columbus, to help us spread the word about all this community has to offer.”
Other partners in the project include the City of Columbus, the Columbus Foundation, the Columbus Chamber, CompeteColumbus, The Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Alive.
